Our Town

By Thornton Wilder

April 9 - 25, 2010
RLT Sutton Main Stage Theatre (Reserved Seating)

The history of Grover’s Corners between the years of 1901 and 1913 are played out on stage. Routine daily activity becomes the subject of drama, from the morning milk delivery to the town choir practice, from the quest for love to the transience of life. Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1938.

New! We will be holding a “talk back” session following the Friday, April 23 performance featuring Wilder specialist David Garrett Izzo. The event offers a rare opportunity for audience members to share a dialog with actors, the director and a scholar on the fascinating subject of Thornton Wilder’s masterwork. Dr. Izzo is a writer of fiction and drama as well as a scholar of modern British and American literature with numerous books and articles of literary criticism, literary philosophy, literary biography, and literary history. He was contributor and editor of Thornton Wilder: New Essays (1999), a collection of 27 original essays, occasioned by the 1997-98 centennial of Wilder’s birth.

Director: Haskell Fitz-Simons
